This presentation will identify the major applications of physical therapy in the healthcare continuum. Attendants will learn the differences in the type of physical therapy provided at various stages in health care. We will discuss the transition from acute to inpatient and outpatient therapy services. We will identify the most commonly used terminology in the physical therapy field across all care types. Special tests and objective data frequently used by therapists and physicians will be demonstrated. Presentation attendees will have knowledge and visual understanding of frequently used special tests to common joints injured. We will conclude with education on ergonomic workplace set up and the importance of addressing computer setup to avoid workplace overuse injuries.
